Unwashed fabric. Shrinkage approximately 6-8%.

A classic versatile linen fabric in with naturally occurring slubs. This plain-woven linen fabric has an earthy and natural feel, starts crisp, and gets softer with every washing over time. Great thick linen fabric for homeware projects such as aprons, tea towels, cushions, and soft furnishings or clothing like jackets, pants, tunics, and skirts.

We recommend ordering a linen swatch before purchasing, as each piece is cut to order and therefore non-returnable unless faulty.

Weight: 215 g/sq.m
Width unwashed: approximately 150 cm
Width washed: approximately 140cm

Soak first and wash separately at 60 degrees to shrink the fabric. Then wash separately at 40 degrees.

Washed it before cutting and it shrank about as much as they said, maybe 7%, so definitely pre-wash first. After that it softened up nicely and sewed without fighting me.

The slubs give it such an earthy texture, and it softened up beautifully after the first wash. I made a summer robe with it and the 215 g weight drapes nicely without feeling heavy. Just account for the shrinkage, mine came in around 7%.

I pre-washed it before sewing curtains and it shrank right around the 7% mark, so the fit came out perfect. Still crisp out of the dryer but already softening up with handling. Exactly the weight I wanted for a breezy summer throw.
